Nominations are now being accepted for the 2023 Jeanie Borlaug Laube Women in Triticum (WIT) awards honoring exceptional early-career women scientists and mentors working in wheat.
The WIT awards from the Borlaug Global Rust Initiative (BGRI) recognize scientific achievement and leadership. The WIT Early-Career Award honors exceptional women scientists working in wheat during the early stages of their careers. The WIT Mentor Award recognizes a person of any gender who has proven to be a distinguished mentor of women working in Triticum or its nearest relatives.
Applications for both the WIT Early-Career and WIT Mentor awards are being accepted until January 31, 2023.
Since establishing the WIT awards in 2010, the BGRI has recognized more than 75 scientists from around the world. The awards are named for Jeanie Borlaug Laube, chair of the BGRI and daughter of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Norman E. Borlaug.
