Samia Berraies, from Tunisia, was a PhD student in biology and genetics at the University of Science of Tunis where her research focused on genetic resistance to leaf rust and septoria trtici blotch, particularly in the identification of molecular markers associated with quantitative trait loci of resistance. Currently she is a postdoc at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
